Flash Mob!

You have seen them on You Tube; Flash Mobs -- Spontaneous, contagious dance and music moments in public spaces that transform the crowd, and make spirits soar! Now you can be part of one!
As part of a new campaign to reduce and eliminate the use of single use plastic bags, Sustainable Princeton has planned a few local happenings to spread the knowledge of this environmental hazard. Did you know that plastic bags are the second biggest plastic pollutant in the ocean, contributing to a mass of plastic two times the size of Texas in the Pacific and kill many species of marine animals? Perhaps you did, but now you can learn more and take a pledge to stop using them completely. On April 16th at Noon you can participate in the Sustainable Princeton Flash Mob to boost awareness. If you want to take part simply email bainy.suri@facebook.com and join a rehearsal on April 14th and 15th. (Not required to participate). But where will this Flash Mob happen? Ooh, that part won’t be revealed until 10:30 Saturday morning. So sign up to be a part of it now. Or at minimum go to the BYOBag Campaign on Facebook and spread the word.
Then mark June 9th on your calendar. Sustainable Princeton will show the movie ‘Bag It’ at the Princeton library at 7:30, preceded by a kids’ event on the plaza with Stone Soup Circus and info on plastic bags.
With awareness comes change. After all, there was a time when we didn’t even recycle. Help save this planet of ours. You can do it.
